Van Gogh Sold Out! Winners Revealed

Van Gogh’s art packed the house at the Raven Theatre’s West Stage.  Commedia Beauregard’s 4-performance Master Works festival sold out the 60-seat venue twice, and came really close the other two nights, as well.

Huge congratulations are due to the winning plays of this round of the Master Works Series.  The audiences voted, and the selections were:

Best Translation:
Smoke If You Got ‘Em by Ellen Cribbs, directed by Celia Forrest
starring Arne Saupe & Abbey Smith

Audience Favorite:
The Right Place
by Christopher Kidder-Mostrom, directed by Brittany Westfall
starring Matt Beard, Ariana Cohen & Andrew Kudla

We owe a huge debt of gratitude to all the playwrights, directors and cast members who made the show possible.  Also, mega-thanks to the Master Works Committee members for putting this all together.  It was a great way to begin our time as a resident company of the Raven Theatre!

Commedia Beauregard is a non-profit theatre company that produces theatre in Chicago and Minneapolis/Saint Paul. The company is dedicated to producing theatre in translation. This often means works form one language into another. However, the company does explore what it means to translate, as well. Commedia Beauregard has been making theatre since 1999. It relocated its permanent base of operations to Chicago in 2011.
